The type of information my website collects

By default, comments are disabled on this website but information about you will be collected for the purpose of contacting you if you have expressed an interest in a photography project and arranging a booking. Should you choose to book a session using the booking functionaliy on this website or fill-in any participation form, please be aware that I have to collect and store the following personal information:

• The name you provide on the booking form or participation form
• The email address you provide on the booking form or participation form
• The phone number you provide on the booking form so that I can get back in touch with you
• For some photographic projects, you may be asked to enter some details about yourself (e.g. a statement about a specific topic) but this should not contain personally identifiable information such as precise address or occupation.

Additionaly, various website analytics will be collected such the visitor’s IP address and the number of visits on any page.

How do I collect your personal information and why I have it ?

All of the personal information processed by this website is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• Booking a session
• Registering for an event
• Raising an enquiry
• Making a complaint
• Adding a comment to a page (disabled by default)

I use the information that you have given me in order to:

• Schedule your photo session
• Contact you to arrange a photo session
• Register you to an event
• Put together a narrative to accompany a photograph or tell a story in the context of a non-commercial initiative or exhibition (you will always review before publication)
• Log and respond to your enquiry

I do not share any information with other third parties unless required to do so by law or regulators or you specifically ask me to. Some information may be shared with charities supporting a personal project or exhibition. If this is the case, it will be clearly stated on the form.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful base I rely on for processing this information is your consent.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long is your data retained?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on this website (Disabled by default), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you fill in a form and volunteer personal information, the data will be retained as follows:

• Register you to an event: Indefinitely
• Feedback: indefinitely
• Log and respond to your enquiry: indefinitely
• Information about you for the purpose of participating in a photographic project (e.g. charity event): Indefinitely

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where is your data sent?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Some of the forms used on this website are powered by third party software.
